Micro-credentials help you access career growth and professional opportunities faster.
Micro-credentials are "mini" qualifications that train you to be able to complete skills that employers want. This non-degree credential costs less than a certificate or associate degree and can be completed in less than half a year.
MCC’s micro-credentials are designed to:
- Provide specific knowledge in Massachusetts’s fastest growing industries
- Offer focused, in-demand career qualifications
- Meet local workforce and industry partner needs
- Be compact and completed quickly
Available as three or four, eight-week course bundles, or nine credit hours, micro-credentials are taught by industry experts and college professors. The cost is often less than $800 with no registration or application fee.
Courses can be completed in one semester and can lead to a certificate or associate degree at MCC.

Culinary Micro-credentials
Restaurant Supervisor Micro Credential Credits - Total Credits: 9
The Restaurant Supervisor Micro Credential is a 3 course bundle that is designed to
provide students with the necessary information and skills to obtain employment in
the restaurant industry. Courses are offered online or in a hybrid format.
3 credits – BUS 151 Food and Beverage Management
3 credits – BUS 152 Food and Beverage Cost and Revenue Management
3 credits – BUS 158 Food Science and Sanitation
Culinary Skills Micro Credential - Total Credits: 9
The culinary skills micro credential is designed to provide students will the hands
on experience and skills necessary to obtain employment in the restaurant industry.
Students will complete 2 hands on culinary skills classes and an online food science
and sanitation course. This course will also include a Serv Safe certification exam.
This program is designed to be completed in 1 semester. Students are encouraged to
continue to the Culinary Skills II Micro Credential, or to the Culinary Arts Certificate
or AS Degree. All courses within this credential will roll into our Culinary Certificate
and Culinary AS degree program.

Entrepreneurship Micro-credential
Launch at MCC Micro Credential - Total Credits: 10The Launch at MCC micro-credential develops a student’s entrepreneurial mindset to identify and evaluate opportunities, as well as use knowledge and tools to actively launch a new venture. Appropriate for students planning to start or grow any enterprise regardless of academic discipline.

Communications Micro-credentials
Communication Skills Micro Credential - Total Credits: 9
Students who complete the Communication Skills micro-credential will gain an understanding
of communication concepts, theories, and models. They will develop the essential verbal,
non-verbal, and visual communication skills required for effective composition and
delivery in a variety of contexts.

Web Design & Coding Micro Credential - Total Credits: 9
Students who complete this micro-credential will learn to design visually appealing
and user-centric websites, with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Understanding UX and UI
design practices, students will be able to apply responsive web design principles
to ensure websites are accessible and perform optimally across various devices and
screen sizes.

21st Century Marketing Essentials - Total Credits: 12
Students who complete this micro-credential will learn to analyze the challenges and
opportunities of global marketing, gain insights into data analysis and metrics to
evaluate campaign effectiveness. They will aslo learn to create social media strategies
and execute cohesive and effective marketing campaigns that utilize a mix of digital
an d traditional channelswhile undertanding the importance respecting consumer privacy,
embracing diversity, and ensuring accuracy and honesty.

that resonates with a target audience, encouraging engagement and fostering community
around a brand. Using social media analytics tools to measure the success of their

platforms and tactics to meet specific goals.

Media Writing Micro Credential - Total Credits: 9Students who complete the Media Writing micro-credential will learn the fundamentals of purpose, context, voice, technique, and structure for effective writing. The Artificial Intelligence (AI) micro credential is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and growth in the AI profession. Students will learn to apply fundamental concepts of programming languages and software development to solve a diverse array of problems. Working together, students will design, develop, evaluate, and present solutions to business and software engineering problems while responding to new programming languages, tools, and cyber security challenges.

To help students interested in a career in the health sciences access career growth and professional opportunities faster, MCC now offers a 3 course micro-credential training in Public Health Informatics & Technology.
Micro-credentials are mini qualifications that train students to be able to complete skills that employers want. This non-degree credential takes less time than a certificate or associate degree and can be earned by completing the following 3 courses:

Law Enforcement Micro-credential - Total Credits: 12The Law Enforcement micro-credential is designed to give students the knowledge to obtain employment in local law enforcement agencies such as city/town police departments, campus police and alike. This program is designed to be completed in two semesters and completion of these courses will provide students with the necessary skills to be better prepared and succeed in the field of Law Enforcement.

Private Security Micro-credential - Total Credits: 9
The Private Security micro-credential is designed to give students the compettive knowledge necessary to obtain employment with private security agencies. This program is designed to be completed in two semesters and completion of these courses will provide students with the necessary skills to be better prepared and succeed in the field of Private Security. Students pursuing this micro-credential will be eligible to work as Campus Safety Officers at MCC as well as other private security agencies through the Office of Career Integrated Learning at MCC.

Social Justice Advocacy Micro-credential - Total Credits: 12
The Social Justice Advocacy micro-credential is designed to give students the knowledge to obtain employment in social service agencies serving populations, such as but not limited to: families in need, low income housing, victims and witnesses of crime, high impact crime areas, homelessness, serve racial and ethnic minority population and alike. This program is designed to be completed in two semesters and may help students attain entry-level positions in social services/non-profit agencies.

Cost (Tuition & Fees): Each credential costs less than $800 per class and there is no fee to apply or register.
Program Length: Your credential can be earned in as little as one semester. Our micro-credential programs are often just three eight-week courses (nine credit hours).
