About MCC
As part of the Mass. public higher education system, MCC provides academic preparation for transfer to a bachelor's degree program, as well as career training. Fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, MCC offers more than 45 associate degree programs. Many of our programs have internships and community-service components, which give our students learning opportunities in the community and the workplace.
We have many transfer agreements with many baccalaureate programs that enable MCC students to easily transfer to other colleges and universities in the U.S.
International Student Services
At Middlesex, we give our international students the support and assistance they need to succeed at a U.S. college. MCC provides advising, programs and services designed to make the international student's college experience as positive and productive as possible. International student advisors serve as liaisons between the students and faculty, staff, U.S. officials and foreign government agencies, as well as student sponsors or families.

Visa Information
PROCESS FOR OBTAINING AN F-1 VISA
- An application will be processed only when ALL of the required documentation is received.
- The College will then issue an I-20 Form, along with other acceptance information.
- You will then take the admissions package we send you (which will have the I-20 Form, a copy of your Affidavit of Support, your letter of acceptance from Middlesex, and copies of any financial documentation provided) to the U.S. Embassy in your country for processing. You should also bring documentation showing your intent to return to your home country such as a job offer, home ownership, or information regarding family members at home.
- Department of Homeland Security is assessing a $350 fee to all persons who are initially issued a Form I-20 and are seeking to attend school as an International student under an F-1 visa. This fee is to cover the costs of administering and maintaining the newly implemented Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS). Payment is made directly to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) by downloading and completing form I-901 at http://www.ice.gov/sevis/i901/ and submitting it with a check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank. International money orders or bank drafts drawn on a financial institution chartered or operated in the U.S. and payable in U.S. Currency may also be used. Payments can also be made electronically by completing the form I-901 via the internet at FMJfee.com and using a Visa, MasterCard, or American Express credit card issued in the U.S. or overseas. Regardless of which method you use, payment must be received by DHS no later than a week before the date upon which the alien reports to the consulate to submit the visa application and undergo a visa interview. This will ensure that the check is processed at least three (3) days prior to the interview, as required by the regulations. Students making the payment electronically with a credit card will be able to print out a receipt at the time of the payment and will be able to use that printed fee receipt for immediate verification of payment. DHS will issue an official paper receipt acknowledging every payment, via express delivery service, to the address provided on Form I-901 regardless of the payment method used.
B-1/B-2 VISA HOLDERS
If you are already in the United States on a Visitor's Visa, you may complete the
Middlesex International Student admission process while in the United States to receive
your I-20 and then return to your home country to petition for the F-1 visa.
F-1 VISA STUDENTS TRANSFERRING FROM A U.S. COLLEGE
F-1 transfer applicants must complete the Middlesex International Student Application
to obtain an I-20. Applicants must be "in status" with USCIS and come directly from
another college or university with a satisfactory grade point average. Visa holders
out of status must apply to USCIS for reinstatement.
International Student's Course Load

ARRIVAL IN THE UNITED STATES
All accepted Middlesex International Students are required to:
- Arrive in the United States at least two weeks before classes begin.
- If you are transferring from another United States College or University you should first schedule an appointment to meet with a Designated School Official (DSO) at Middlesex.
- Plan to take the mandatory Middlesex Placement Test.
- Pay tuition and register for classes.
- Attend a special orientation for International Students.
- Submit to the International Student office a copy of your passport, I-94 card and stamped I-20 within 10 days of arriving in the United States.
MEDICAL HISTORY, IMMUNIZATION FORM AND HEALTH INSURANCE:
All International Students are required to submit the completed International Student Health Record and must purchase the Middlesex Student Insurance.
Health Program Applicants:
Admission to a Health Division program is selective because of limited class size
and clinical sites. Students considering applying to a Health degree or certificate
program with additional admission requirements should thoroughly review prerequisites
and other conditions before applying to that program. Non-Massachusetts residents,
including International students, will be admitted on a space available basis only.
Individuals who lack the prerequisite courses for a particular health program may
enter the college in the Liberal Studies with Health Pathway program and, once prerequisites
have been completed, they may apply to be considered for admission to a health program.
Middlesex Community College is committed to your success in achieving your goal of attending college. International students who have completed secondary school but do not meet Middlesex's English language proficiency requirements can obtain conditional admission at Middlesex through our partnerships with several English Language Schools in the region. Middlesex has developed partnership agreements with these schools that enable students to learn English full-time at the language school and then transfer to Middlesex once they have achieved English proficiency.
Students will obtain I-20's from the partner language school of their choice, which will indicate that the student has been conditionally admitted to Middlesex. These English Language programs are designed to help students meet our minimum English language admissions requirements and allow students to reach their academic potential while enrolled at MCC. We look forward to welcoming you to Middlesex – a great place to begin your future!
Middlesex has agreements with the following English Language schools. Visit these websites to learn more about our English language training program agreements.
