MCC Nesmith House
A Piece of Lowell History on MCC's Campus!
Built in 1843 for John and Harriet Nesmith, the 22-room Greek Revival/Regency mansion was a center for the family’s social and cultural affairs until 1939.
Today, Nesmith House is owned by the Middlesex Community College Foundation, featuring
period furnishings and a full professional kitchen. The Nesmith House is available
to rent for your sepcial event or community meeting. Each rental of this historic
property supports student scholarships.
Information on Renting the Nesmith House
- Accommodates 48 to 100 guests, depending upon event type
- Staff person on-hand to assist as needed
- China, silverware, tables and chairs
- Linens available, with cleaning fee
- Parking for 15 cars on grounds with additional parking available by request
- Food and liquor must be arranged using an approved vendor
- All luncheons, dinners and receptions require at least one waitstaff for serving and cleaning
- No use of paper or plasticware allowed
- Limitations regarding children at events
- We cannot accommodate multimedia presentations
- Nothing should be taped or hung on the walls
- Furnishings may not be moved
- Smoking of any kind is not permitted, including vaping
- Parking is allowed only on the right of the front driveway
- Parking attendant is required for any event with groups of 15 or more
- You are responsible for any damages incurred to the property
