Our classes and certificate programs are taught by subject matter experts. Working with industries, we offer courses to meet workforce needs to enhance your career.

Frequently Asked Questions

All noncredit Community Education students must register before the class start date. Payment is due upon enrollment. Community Education noncredit classes are not eligible for financial aid nor free community college. Students are not permitted to attend class without prior registration. Some programs are eligible for payment plans. Please inquire. 

 

Once you complete the above enrollment/registration form, you will receive a confirmaion email from Community Education confirming enrollment along with course payment instructions. 

Third Party Invoice or Employer Billing: 
If your employer would like to be invoiced by MCC for your tuition/fees for any non-credit course, please provide the following billing information upon enrollment:

Company Name, Company Representative Name, Company Address, Company Phone, and Company Rep Email.

MCC will invoice the employer directly.

Note: Ultimately, students are solely responsible and obligated for the timely and complete payment of their student account, regardless of any reliance on third-party resources, including but not limited to family gifts, employer reimbursement, or any other external resource.

Tuition Waivers for Commonwealth of Massachusetts Employees: Commonwealth of Massachusetts employees with approved tuition waivers, tuition remission, or tuition vouchers may register for the approved noncredit course. Tuition waivers, tuition remission, or tuition vouchers do not apply to special programs, online courses or as indicated certain course descriptions/community education web page. Individuals with tuition waivers are responsible for the cost of all materials, fees, supplies and/or books.


Tuition waiver forms are obtained within your state agency (HR Dept).

Completed/approved tuition waivers MUST be applied to your student account by submitting the approved waiver form to the MCC’s Student Accounts/Bursar Office.

Please email the approved tuition wavier to MCC student accounts office 7-10 days prior to the course start date.

When a student drops or withdraws from a course, processing instructional and other costs must still be met by the College. Therefore, refunds and the official withdrawal policy for Community Education and Training noncredit courses is listed below. If the course is canceled by MCC, a 100 percent refund is made.

Refunds are processed by our MCC student accounts office. Please allow 7-10 business days for processing refunds. This refund policy applies to Corporate and Community Education noncredit courses only. 

Unless otherwise noted refund policy for Community Education Classes Coded HLT, CAR, TEC, PER:
- 5 or more business days prior to start of course 100 percent refund
- Less than 5 business days prior to start of the course 50 percent of tuition
- Class start date or after course begins $0
- Transfers are not accepted.

Refunds for Special Programs:
Local Anesthesia Certification for Registered Dental Hygienists, Nurse Assistant/HHA Training, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy, SHRM HR partnership courses, Ed2go-MindEdge partnership courses, College for Kids summer programs: As stated in student Memo of Understanding or Community Education course web page.

College for Kids Summer Youth Programs: 
- 30 or more days prior to start date 100 percent refund less a $15 processing fee

- Less than 30 days prior to start date 50 percent refund less a $15 processing fee
- Start date or thereafter $0

Course Drop or Withdrawal:
Students MUSTnotify Community Education in writing via email.

Program instructors are not responsible for reporting decisions to withdraw. Lack of attendance, course abandonment or failure to make or complete payment does not constitute official course withdrawal and students will be charged for the course. This applies to all Community Education online and on-campus classes.

Refunds are processed according to the above schedule.

Community Education and Training reserves the right to cancel noncredit courses, workshops, programs, and other events for which there is insufficient enrollment and/or reschedule programs, to change instructors, to change course locations and to take other administrative actions as necessary. Corporate and Community Education reserves the right to change the content of any course information contained in our brochure or website due to error or unforeseen circumstances. Refunds are not automatically warranted based on these changes. Middlesex Community College reserves the right to make changes in policy and regulations at any time as circumstances dictate.

Course Cancelations by MCC:
Courses are sometimes cancelled. We try to notify people as best we can as long as we have appropriate contact information from our enrollment center. When circumstances permit, we provide a telephone or email notification of a course cancellation to each student 3-5 days prior to the course start date. A 100 % refund will be issued within 7 -10 business days if a noncredit class is canceled by Middlesex Community College. Questions on refund process email MCC student accounts or call 781-280-3645.

On Campus Class/Event Cancelations:
Notification of canceled classes at Middlesex Community College are broadcast over the following AM radio stations: WRKO-680; WCAP-980; WBZ-1030. Announcements are also made at the MCC website, television channels 4,5,7, FOX and at 1-800-818-3434 or MCC Winter.

Please note that a delayed campus opening indicates a 9:30am start.

At Middlesex Community College, the Community Education and Training division offers noncredit courses and short-term, highly focused programs in selected fields to meet the needs and interests of learners no matter what age, stage of life, or career. MCC offers online and classroom instruction at our Bedford and Lowell campuses. Programs include professional development, career training, personal enrichment courses, and youth programs.

R.N. Instructor for Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide Program: Provide lecture, skills lab, and clinical training for a 100 hour program.  Part-time evenings or part time days.   Applicants must have a valid R.N. license.

We are seeking experienced instructors to assist in developing and delivering both in person and/or virtual courses in a variety of areas.

This includes (noncredit programs):

  • Comp TIA A+
  • Google IT Support
  • Cloud Associate
  • Comp TIA Security +
  • Comp TIA Network +

Instructors will focus on preparing students for successful completion of certifications and advise on entrance into the information technology industry. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create course syllabus.
  • Develop and/or supplement course materials at levels appropriate for participants.
  • Work with the Workforce Development specialist to tailor and implement courses based on specific needs or grant requirements.
  • Track course participant attendance and progress.
  • Collaborate with Workforce Development specialist on student placement opportunities.
  • Deliver engaging and interactive courses in-person and/or online using appropriate methodologies and technologies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in industry certifications
  • Strong background as a practitioner in applicable subject being taught.
  • Experience teaching applicable concepts and tailoring materials for specific groups.
  • Ability to customize courses to student needs.
  • Experience with equity-minded work and/or understanding of individuals of diverse identities such as race, ethnicity, socioeconomic level, sexual orientation, veterans, and individuals with different academic preparation levels and varying physical and learning abilities.
