At Middlesex Community College (MCC), students of all ages can jumpstart or advance in their careers with professional development and personal enrichment programs. Run by MCC’s Community Education and Training (CET) division, the college offers courses and certificates for job seekers and current employees to succeed in today’s workforce.

MCC’s CET Spring 2025 catalog includes courses in healthcare, information technology (IT), computer applications, management, business and communications. Students interested in healthcare can prepare to sit for certification exams and enter the workforce in entry level roles with hands-on practice and training. Courses in the Spring semester include Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aid, Local Anesthesia, Pharmacy Technician and Phlebotomy.

For students looking to expand their knowledge and gain advanced skills in IT and computer applications, MCC offers a variety of relevant courses. These include Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI), Business Computer Applications, Microsoft Excel, Google IT/Comp TIA A+, Google Cybersecurity/Comp TIA Security, and C++ programming.

Middlesex provides courses that help students understand key management concepts. MCC’s Spring 2025 course offerings include the award-winning SHRM Essentials of Human Resources, and a management certificate which includes Introduction to Workplace Communication, Understanding Motivation, Performance Management, Speaking with Confidence, and Introduction to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).

Employees seeking opportunities in entry-level business and communication fields can explore a range of courses during the Spring. Courses include Digital Media Marketing, Social Media, and Beginning Conversational French. In addition, Middlesex offers certificates in FAA Remote Pilot and administration, as well as grant writing and digital photography.

“I love helping people demystify the art of photography,” said Natalie Watanabe, MCC’s Digital Photography instructor. “My hope is that whether students decide to pursue photography as a hobby or a career, they leave the classroom feeling confident in their skills and excited to continue challenging themselves as artists. There are many different avenues to explore once they unlock the potential of their camera and creative vision!”
