Middlesex Community College provides flexible and affordable options for students who are close to completing their degree or certificate. For students looking to start their education now, Middlesex will offer a second chance to start the Spring 2025 semester with the accelerated Mini-mester II starting on Monday, March 24.
“At MCC, students have multiple options when it comes to starting or continuing their education, including our Spring Mini-mester II,” said Scott O’Neil, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Services. “In just eight weeks, our students can work toward their program of study, earn transferable college credits, and get on track to reach their goals. This offering is a quick, high-reward way for students to earn their degree, certificate or industry credential, whether they’re at the beginning or close to the end of their academic journey.”
The accelerated eight-week Mini-mester offers the same content, academic standards, and number of instructional hours as courses scheduled during the traditional 15-week semester. Students can earn transferable college credit while completing general education requirements.

Subjects taught as part of Mini-mester II include the arts and humanities, business, social science, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). Classes may be offered on-campus, online, hybrid or hyflex.
No matter a student’s age or income, community college is now free in Massachusetts! The MassEducate and MassReconnect programs allow all Massachusetts residents who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree to attend MCC for free. Students must complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) to find out their eligibility.
