This spring and summer, Middlesex Community College is offering flexible and affordable options to help students jumpstart their education. Featuring accelerated classes, students can complete their programs faster and get the most for their time during the eight-week Spring 2025 Mini-mester II and four summer sessions.
“One of the biggest benefits of coming to MCC are the flexible course formats we offer throughout the year,” said Scott O’Neil, MCC’s Dean of Enrollment Services. “This flexibility includes taking accelerated classes that allow students to start or continue their education at times that work best for them. Ranging from three to eight weeks, these classes are a quick, high-reward way for students to earn their degree, certificate or industry credential on a timeframe that works best for their schedule.”
In both the spring and summer, MCC’s accelerated courses provide the same content, academic standards, and number of instructional hours as courses scheduled during the traditional 15-week semester.
MCC’s eight-week Spring Mini-mester II allows students to take more classes throughout the semester. This keeps them on track to reach their goals faster. Starting Monday, March 24, classes may be offered on-campus, online, hybrid or hyflex.
During the summer, students can take advantage of the time to advance in their academic plans, finish general education requirements, earn transferable credits, and update skills with professional development. MCC’s four summer sessions range from three, five and eight weeks long.
- Summer Quickstart: three weeks, May 27 to June 13
- Summer Session One: five weeks, May 27 to June 26
- Summer Session Two: eight weeks, May 27 to July 24
- Summer Session Three: five weeks, July 8 to August 7
Mini-mester and summer course options include a variety of subjects, such as the arts and humanities, business, social science, and STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). All students taking classes at MCC have access to award-winning student support services to guide them to reach their goals. This includes free tutoring, library services, and advising for academic, career, transfer and financial support.
“This spring and summer we have a variety of classes, support services and resources to help you reach your goals,” O’Neil said. “Register now to set yourself up for success.”
