Ahead of the Spring 2026 semester, Middlesex Community College is hosting walk-in advising sessions. The sessions are offered on-campus in Bedford and Lowell and online to help prepare students for the upcoming semester, starting on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.

“Walk-in advising removes barriers during a busy season,” said Erika Corona, MCC’s Assistant Dean of Advising and Pathways. “By offering flexible, no-appointment support, we can meet students where they are, help them register early, and ensure they secure the classes they need to stay on track.”

During the walk-in advising sessions, Middlesex academic advisors will be available to help new and prospective students develop and follow a plan to complete their programs of study. Academic advisors are the first point of contact for questions about degree requirements. Students can work with an academic advisor to better understand and explore their goals.

Working with an academic advisor, students can set achievable short- and long-term goals, stay organized, and learn how to manage their coursework. They can also help students get ready for the new semester by showing them how to buy their books and other course materials and get familiar with the online tools MCC uses in classes and to keep students informed, including the MyMCC portal, Navigate and Blackboard.

When selecting classes for the next semester, academic advisors can also assist students in choosing which format works best for them, including on-campus, online, hybrid and hyflex. They can also guide students through choosing one of MCC’s over 80 associate degree and certificate programs to pursue.

Academic advisors are also able to connect students to resources and support services across MCC. This includes tutoring, the Libraries, the Wellness Resource Center, and career and financial advising.

Walk-ins are held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on-campus Monday through Thursday until Wednesday, December 24 and then Friday, January 2 to Friday, January 23. Virtual walk-in sessions are available 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays. Sessions are held in the Academic Advising and Pathway Centers on the first floor of the Enrollment Center in Bedford and the third floor of the Cowan Center in Lowell.

In addition to helping students register for classes, academic advisors can assist students in preparing to transfer to a four-year institution. Academic advisors can discuss options, connect students with representatives from four-year schools, and share information on MCC college visits and transfer fairs.
