Middlesex Community College encourages students to complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This Spring semester, MCC’s Office of Financial Aid will host the FAFSA Bowl event to guide current and prospective students through the financial aid process.

“Completing your FAFSA opens the door to financial aid opportunities that can make college more affordable,” said Kimberly Tibbetts, MCC’s Director of Financial Aid. “Attending a FAFSA completion event ensures you get expert help, avoid mistakes, and maximize your eligibility – because your future is worth every step.”

Financial aid can help pay for the costs of attending MCC, such as tuition and fees, books, living expenses, transportation and personal expenses, according to Tibbetts. In addition to the FAFSA Bowl, Middlesex students can meet with a FAFSA specialist and attend webinars and events through the Office of Financial Aid.

During the event, financial aid staff will be available to provide direct assistance to students as they complete their application. The college will offer information and support, as well as answer questions as students go through the process of filling out the form.

In honor of Super Bowl Sunday, the FAFSA Bowl will feature food and gift card giveaways. The event will take place from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 5 in the Lowell Cowan Center, room 201.

“During the FAFSA Bowl, we hope to help current and prospective students become eligible for the MassEducate and MassReconnect free community college programs and get any other funding they may be eligible for,” said Brett Rich, Financial Aid Administrative Assistant II. “Filling out the FAFSA is the first step in setting themselves up for success at Middlesex and beyond.”
